Philips Home Monitoring System: INRatio
This training module is designed specifically for nurses and other health care providers working as patient-care instructors for Philips Remote Cardiac Services division. The 45-minute course offers a definition of International Normalization Ratios (INRs), how to identify normal and out-of-range INR values, and some key “do’s and don’ts” of INR. The web class will help providers teach patients how to perform self-tests of their INRs, while further describing how patients can contact the Philips Remote Cardiac Services customer services team. Finally, this class specifically offers an overview of the features and functions of the INRatio® meter.
There are no continuing education credits associated with this course; however, a required competency exam is to be taken at the completion of the class.
About the author:
Dawn is a Clinical Education Coordinator/Clinical Associate at Healthworks, working for a variety of the company’s hospital clients, splitting her time between assisting in cath lab procedures and teaching. Before joining the company, Dawn was the Heart Transplant Coordinator/Supervisor for the Hospital University of Pennsylvania (HUP) in Philadelphia, PA. She also worked as a cath lab technologist at HUP, where she was involved extensively for hemodynamic recording and monitoring during cath cases, and had diagnostic and invasive post-procedural patients care responsibilities. A Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, Dawn completed the cardiovascular technology program at Gwynedd-Mercy College in Gwynedd Valley, PA, and earned both her bachelor’s in biology and a master’s in education from Lincoln University, located in Chester County, Pennsylvania.
